Review of The Matrix Revolutions (2003) by Daniel W — 15 May 2017
No. Just no.
20 minutes of boring train station and rehashed Matrix action. 10 minutes of Neo and Trinity on a ship trying to figure out if this guy who is completely acting like Agent Smith might possibly be Agent Smith. Then?
50 FUCKING MINUTES OF ANCILLARY CHARACTERS THAT NOBODY CARES ABOUT SHOOTING AT ROBOTS IN A BATTLE WE'VE ALREADY BEEN TOLD THEY CAN NOT WIN! GAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!
And then we finally remember that Neo and The Matrix exist and have a contrivance to get him in there for an extremely pointless and illogical fight with him and Agent Smith in the rain that, really, has no reason to be any different from all their OTHER fights, and isn't even half as interesting as the one from Reloaded? Why? BECAUSE THEY BLEW THEIR LOAD IN THE SECOND MOVIE!
GAH! This franchise showed so much promise and it Star Wars Prequeled itself! But at least I can sit through those movies without wanting to strangle somebody.
