Holy moly, I watched this as an 36 year old together with my 25 year old friend. She didn't know the Matrix trilogy, but I did. We BOTH found this movie to be terrible. Cheap effects, no engaging storyline, terrible editing and action choreography, bad substitute actors, way too meta and incoherent overall.
.. What the hell were they thinking??? I felt old watching this...in a BAD way. Watch it to rip on it, that's my recommendation.
