[/indent]the manson family... a low budget indie flick... retelling the story of the manson kids... how they came to join charlie... how they came under his spell... sideplot: kids from today shown plotting and being just as f*cked up as the manson kids back in the 70s... except in terms of today... ie: heroine and crack replaces pot and lsd...

the acting is attrocious... but I was ready for that...

the editing is fast... the camera angles and focusing all over the place...

the budget for special effects must had been horendously low... it looked like they used a lot of turkey meat and carcasses... the low budget lent to the movie's charm and was also one of the reasons I started leaning toward not liking the movie... I heart gore... don't get me wrong... 'dead alive' is one of my all time fav movies for gore... but it was too much... it left me nauseous and with a headache at the end...

one of the things I did like about the movie was the use of charlie's own music in the film... bad as it was/is... it still added a lil something...

all in all... the movie was just about what I expected... I was interested in learning more about the kids... as the movie points out... every story always turns to being about charlie in the end... so this was a refreshing change to have him be just a background character...

but for my money... I think i'd rather have spent the $9.25 on seeing "Guerrilla: The Taking of Patty Hearst".... actually i'm going to see that one anyway... so i'll let u know how it is...
