Review of The Manson Family (1997) by Ryan D — 12 Jun 2008
Full marks for visual style. This film takes it's aesthetic influence direct from exploitation films from the sixties straight through to the nineties and in that sense out-grindhouses Grindhouse. Shame it's so ham-fisted, badly paced and contains such an un-nessercary angsty adolescent fantasy modern day sub-plot.
Whatever potential this film had soon disappears leaving the kind of rotting corpse of a film adored by the kinda sad nutjobs that shoot up schools.
