Review of The Manson Family (1997) by Sean C — 15 Jun 2008
The reviews of this film are quite poor, but I thought it was a really great film. People have complained that the murders are typical slasher movie style and are disrespectful to the dead and their families.
I disagree because the Manson murders are so glossily done over in our media culture that we forget that these murders were horrible. This movie makes you see how horrible they were. I also really like the fact that the family members were the focus instead of Charlie Manson because they were the ones that did the killing.
This movie took Jim VanBebber 15 years to complete.
