Review of The Man with One Red Shoe (1985) by Kenneth L — 18 Sep 2009
A respectable if unremarkable '80s comedy. Tom Hanks, due to mistaken identity, is unwittingly at the center of a bunch of CIA shenanigans throughout the entire movie. He plays another one of his genial goofs from earlier in his career; he's likable, but obviously has no chance to display the massive talent we saw later in Forrest Gump and other movies.
Jim Belushi was actually funny, unlike in most things he appears in. Lori Singer is pretty as the spy assigned to investigate Hanks, but doesn't have a ton to do. It's predictable and not at all remarkable technically, but I enjoyed it well enough for the hour-and-a-half it lasted.
