Review of The Man Who Would Be King (1975) by Paco R — 28 Jul 2008
The Man who would be King looked at face value like the kind of movie I would generally find boring and dated, while the film does look old, the story and style make that irrelevant since there's nothing that could have benefited from most of today's expensive visuals.
Caine and Connery actually work surprisingly well together too with lots of witty dialogue and almost comic mannerisms. The story is a basic one for the most part and resolves itself just how you'd expect but the performances make it enjoyable none the less.
