Review of The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) by Dominic D — 04 Mar 2008
The Coen's normally make great, tighly made movies. Although technically brilliant (visuals and Thornton's acting in particular), the movie's pacing feels "off." It's an entertaining 2 hours, but you feel that it somehow would've worked better at a 90-minute run time.
The last third of the movie tightens the reigns and brings the movie to a great finish. Of course, these observations are all harder than they should be, since few others can pull off what these guys do over and over again!
