Review of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) by Denae B — 12 Aug 2008
It's a John Ford film, but one he does well. Sure, it mythologizes the Old West, but it also has humor and humanity and is generally well acted. The lead actress is enjoyable to watch, if only because of the way she interacts with physical objects.
And you get to see John Wayne get punched in the face. The story is solid, and this movie holds up to time better than most of its genre.
