Review of The Man Who Laughs (1928) by Brad S — 30 Jul 2010
Excellent silent film based on a novel by Victor Hugo was the basis for Bob Kane to create The Joker character. The film itself is really interesting, ambitious for it's time with a budget of over $1 million which was a tremendous amount for 1927, the film features everything from drama, romance, thrills and action.
Conrad Veidt(Cabinet of Dr.Caligari) gives an outstanding performance. This is a must for film buffs.
