Review of The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) by Alisha R — 05 Dec 2008
Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much is one of his lighter outings. James Stewart and Doris Day play a married couple, Ben and Jo McKenna, who are traveling with their son, Hank, in Morocco when a man is mysteriously murdered in a market, where Ben discovers word of a plot to assassinate a world politician.
This isn't one of Hitchcock's better movies, in fact, it's pretty mild. I'd recommend it for die-hard Hitchcock fans, but I don't think this is an essential film of his. The plot is very straightforward and lacks some of the more serious character investment that can be found in his stronger works; North by Northwest and Strangers on a Train.
