Review of The Man from Nowhere (2010) by Kang R — 11 Apr 2011
Filmfest DC 4/10/11. I can deal with mindless violence (to a point), but it would be nice if this film had something clever or original underneath. Instead, what you have is an admittedly stylish and well-made thriller that spends 2 hours rehashing ground that's been covered in countless other movies.
The rogue operative with a dark secret. The adorable tyke/beautiful girl who's in peril. The sinister brother villains. They are all here. All in all entirely watchable, but mostly forgettable. One terrific moment, however: The hero jumps out of a 2nd story window and lands, unscathed of course, with the camera following him the whole way.
Would love to know how they did that!
