Review of The Man from Nowhere (2010) by Malvin L — 12 Aug 2011
A South Korean take on "Taken", it is a moderately paced action thriller with a decent cast, featuring a rather calm protagonist and an unexpected, equally composed executioner, who is a somewhat unusual baddie.
Although the gory scenes are considered mild by Korean standards, the action sequences are done well, including a highly-tensed knife fight at the end. Naturally, it has its emotional moments but it needed a bit more pace to measure up against some of its counterparts.
