Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Bryan W — 28 Dec 2008
Easily my favorite Bogart movie and an excellent example of what happens when the source material for adaptation is closely followed. The taut, snappy dialogue carries an intelligent air that few films can match.
The twists and turns in each character's arc keep the audience guessing while the film chugs along with brisk pacing that crescendos directly up to the final confrontation, which is perhaps unmatched in crime drama.
