Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Tiffany D — 14 Apr 2014
Another one of those "how have I not seen all this before?" films, TMF proves a real classic withstands the sands of time. It's a slice of film noir perfection, featuring Bogart at his Bogart-iest and Lorre at his Lorre-est.
Mary Astor also proves her merit. I really enjoyed it ...and it really proves what a craftsman Bogey was - particularly in an age when the style was certainly more melodramatic: his natural talent stood out.
4+ stars.
