Excellent, shocking, enraging, and heartbreaking. I couldn't believe I had never heard of this fairly recent, widespread, and socially accepted abuse of young women in ireland. the documentary on the dvd has interviews with actual survivors and really drives home the point that this is not fiction.
the film is hard to watch, but the end offers a (relatively) satisfying payoff delivered by our hero bernadette.
