Review of The Lost Weekend (1945) by Anastasia B — 01 Nov 2009
It is mentioned, in the short review of "The Lost Weekend" by Robert Horton that Ray Milland's got under the skin of the alcocholic Don Birnham in order to play the leading character. His award winning performance has it's way of getting under yours, too.
The honesty of the script gives the story an immediacy that's startling and it makes the film feel relevant even by today's standards. For a motion picture that won 4 Oscars, it sure carries a lot of baggage; the fact that it still delivers, justifies the weight.
