Review of The Lost City of Z (2017) by Dave P — 12 Aug 2017
Film adventure story based on the book of the same name. About a British Army officer him part-time (well for years at a time) adventurer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) who plays opposite Siena Miller as his long suffering wife Nina.
I say long suffering because he seems to be away for years at a time be it on adventure jaunts or fighting in the First World War.
Fawcett is hired by the Royal Geographical Society in London to aid in a border dispute between Brazil and Bolivia in the Amazonia region.
Whilst on his first visit to the area he hears about a supposed lost city for some reason called Z.
Remember this is a pre satellite era that harks back to the film adventures of archaeologist Indiana Jones.
Fawcett visits the area three times and be warned the film is very slow moving in parts.
Never mind the Lost City of Z for me it was like The Lost City of Zzzzzz!
