This is a real, raw historical picture that bolsters a great lead performance by Hunnam. It is a fascinating story that, unfortunately, loses its ability to grip the audience after a certain amount of time.
It becomes dry and flavourless at times. But I appreciate it's willingness to be honest and real, and to give an unglamorous perspective of an exploration-adventure. It is an interesting historical film that will satisfy those who are willing to sit through its slow pace, carried by a good lead performance.
