Anyone who knows me knows that I love Rob Zombie so I'm sad to report that THE LORDS OF SALEM is not the winner I hoped it to be. Self-indulgent and overlong, THE LORDS OF SALEM is great to look at and hear.
It's also fun seeing a coven of witches on the silver screen again, but the film never provides much depth and the lead character, very nicely played by Sheri Moon Zombie, is far too passive to make the film interesting.
Some great ideas. A spooky intriguing time at the movies but not the film Zombie should be delivering at this stage of his very creative directorial career.
