The story in contrived and uninspiring. The acting was decent which (no pun intended, seriously) is the high light of the entire film. As for the direction it looks as though Rob Zombie couldn't decide if wanted to draw from influences by Polanski, Kubrick or Friedkin so he just went with all 3.
