Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Joe N — 05 Jun 2013
Instant classic.
The movie is the classic story of four hobbits, a dwarf, an elf, two men and a wizard on a quest to save the world from evil. The special effects alone make it worth watching. The story moves along at a quick pace unlike the book that has a tendency to drag along with side stories left out of the movie and a few long poems. When the party finally goes underground the pace picks up a little too much. In the book the orcs are hidden in the darkness just out of reach, a constant danger that never quite catches up with them. In the movie the walls are crawling with orcs. Fortunately the elf has a magic quiver that never runs out of arrows. If this were a game of D&D and I were the dungeon master, I'd be asking to see the character sheet for this elf.
