Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Skyview B — 08 Sep 2015

I watched the Fellowship of the Ring it is the first movie of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Lord of the rings is based on the books written by J.R.R Tolkien. He wrote the books sometime after or during the 2nd World war. He was a linguist so he created his own language, which in the books is the elvish language, the creation of the language gave him the idea for the books. All three movies in the Trilogy are long movies.

The plot is that a hobbit named Frodo gets one of the powerful rings. He and his fellow companions have to get to Mordor mount doom which is the only way to destroy the ring. Also the story is about man kind to redeem their selves while the elves start to leave middle earth and while the dwarfs hid in their mountains.

The theme is to first illustrate J.R.R Tolkien's books. Also it is to entertain an audience there really wasn't a morel or over all meaning to the story, but to entertain by using action and plot to excite the audience.

The Fellowship had a lot of interesting shots and other editing tricks. For example there are several shots in the sky watching Frodo and his companions travel and when this was filmed they didn't have drones so they used a helicopters. Also when something dramatic happened there was a close up.

They used so many shots from a low angle, high angles,birds eyes, or Dutch angles. Also the director had iconic music the music made you excited and makes you want to be there. The director used shaky footage so you could feel like your in the fight.

Overall the film had a great camera work and film production. I love the plot and the character development the actors are skilled and can act. I would recommend this film because it has great story it is exciting also the film composition is amazing.
