Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Bruno M — 27 Jun 2016
The first part of what for me is the best epic story, in a fictional world, ever told in a movie. The fictional world, like all good stories of this genre, is like an allegory or a metaphor of the world we live in, where most people see others that are different from them like they were from another species and where discrimination, jealousy, selfishness, anger, ignorance and greed/hunger for richness and power are common, and goodhearted, brave, selfless people are rare but capable of doing incredible acts.
Here we are introduced to most of the main interesting characters in trilogy, with a compelling and focused plot, stunning and detailed landscapes and scenarios, profoundly enchanting musics that that constantly elevate us to high emotional levels.
I prefer this extended versions to the theatrical one, because I think the additional scenes enrich even more the story and its characters, and are seamlessly integrated, maintaining the same excellent narrative fluidity.
