Review of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) by Callan D — 21 Jun 2018
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is a phenomenal way to start off the LOTR trilogy that sets a very high standard for the next films! It's a phenomenal adaptation of the famous book by J.
R.R Tolkien that Peter Jackson does quite a good job making. Peter Jackson and the two other screenwriters all wrote an amazing adapted screenplay bringing great detail from the book onto the screen. The direction given by Peter Jackson is quite amazing as he captures everything needed, directs large groups of people in some scenes very well and brings the story to life which is why he was perfect for the job.
The whole cast is full of a lot of big and good actors that all do a great job with their roles giving great performances. Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Sean Bean, Hugo Weaving, Liv Tyler, Christopher Lee and Sean Astin are all the main people who all were great for their roles and did them successfully.
Even though I didn't mention them, the supporting cast also did a great job. The groundbreaking special effects in the film definitely can't go unnoticed because it's visually outstanding and it's part of what makes the movie as good as it is.
Overall, this film totally brings the book to life and is something that fans of the book and people who haven't read it (like me even though I probably should) can definitely enjoy.
