Review of The Longest Day (1962) by Jordan T — 01 Oct 2007
I've been wanting to see this movie for a long time, and I finally watched it last night. I was not disappointed. It had excellent acting, some of the best writing in a war movie I've ever seen, and the cinematography was gorgeous.
In my opinion, this movie actually out does "Saving Private Ryan," which is one of my favorite war movies, but "The Longest Day" shows more aspects of D-Day then "Ryan" and includes the German point-of-view, which only adds to the grand scheme of the whole picture.
I loved it.
