Review of The Long, Hot Summer (1958) by Phil P — 01 Aug 2009
As much as I adore Paul Newman, I must say that his performance in this movie was greatly surpassed by that of Orson Welles and even Joanne Woodward. A very good movie nevertheless. It reminded me a lot on "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" only less depressing and not as 'difficult'. Besides, one of the longest marriages in Hollywood started on the set of this movie. :).
In any case, a very enjoyable movie to watch, especially the shirtless Paul scenes... Or any Paul scenes by that matter. ;).
