Review of The Long, Hot Summer (1958) by Jamie T — 21 Jan 2010
WOW! Maybe not so steamy by today's standards, the undeniable chemistry between Newman and Woodward can't be denied. She's fresh and lovely and repressed; he's sexy, gorgeous, and smoldering.
Angela Lansbury's would-be romance with Orson Welles is fun to watch and for the umpteenth time, Lee Remick and Tony Franciosa are paired up. The Welles/Newman scenes are equally fascinating where they represent the old and young common viewpoint - they understand each other completely.
GREAT movie, don't miss!
