Review of The Long Goodbye (1973) by Manny C — 05 Feb 2009
One of my favorite Altman films, and one of my favorite films, period. This film pits Marlowe, drawn here as an apathetic, whiny schlub, against the "Me" Generation of the 70's. This film seems to be the bridge between The Big Sleep and The Big Lebowski.
It's also one of the great films about friendship. "Hey, it's OK with me.".
