Review of The Long Goodbye (1973) by Jonny B — 15 Dec 2010
I get the feeling that this movie hasn't aged very well. Despite its powerful ending, The Long Goodbye's subversion of the private eye genre has been watered down over the past forty years, leaving the movie with just its sparse storytelling.
Gould, on the other had, has held up. He cuts through the tough guy BS and plays a terrific Marlowe.
