Review of The Long Good Friday (1980) by Lynda M — 19 Apr 2009
I like to call it, the british version of 'The Godfather' and in many ways it is better. I can always relate to the working class Londoners very like what you see in Dublin hence the characters are as real as they come.
Hoskins is made for this role and Mirren and even Pierce Brosnon became known later from this little gem.
