There's a reason the Long Good Friday is one of the most favored British gangster films. The film will probably be best known for Bob Hoskins star making performance, but it's skillfully directed, and it's social commentary was particularly ballsy for the time.
The pacing isn't perfect, but fans of the genre are well advised to check this out.
