Review of The Long Good Friday (1980) by Matt M — 27 May 2013
A London ganglord who has built his empire using every vice except for narcotics is closing in on a new deal with the American mafia; however, suddenly he falls victim of unexpected terrorism which he seems to be unable to stop.
Engaging melodrama, very fast paced and entertaining, which unravels a plot twist after the other. Bob Hoskins as the power thirsty man prone to animal urges who nevertheless disguises his nature behind a civic minded businessman personality is excellent and unforgettable.
