Review of The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927) by Benjamin J — 02 Apr 2011
I watched a version of this film without any soundtrack (i.e. not even a musical score) and yet I was still completely drawn in. Even in 1926, Hitchcock can create atmosphere and drama. OK, some of the acting is a little melodramatic, but that can be overlooked as when you consider what Hitchcock managed to do with pure image.
