Review of The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927) by Byron B — 01 Jun 2018
Interesting film, especially if we consider it as a significant step in Hitchcock's filmography, there are so many familiar features which would go on to be developed and ripened later in his career.
As a standalone piece it's curious and a craftily shot mystery to boot, otherwise I didn't find it marvelous. Though Ivor Novell, the lodger, played outstandingly, his character is really enigmatic and alluring at the same time.
