Review of The Lobster (2015) by Frank C — 12 Oct 2016
A little bit of satire, a little bit of romance, The Lobster is as beguiling as the title itself. With prudent direction from director Yorgos Lanthimos, the film is beautiful to watch with an ensemble cast bringing the script's dystopian world to life. Colin Farrell is at his best as a desperate, newly single man just looking for love where he can find it.
Once the audience buys the premise, The Lobster is relatively easy watching, with humor and pace to drive the story forward. While not all people will have the state of mind to stay with the offbeat nature of the film, those that are able to watch to the end will be rewarded.
