Review of The Little Prince (1974) by Sarah C — 28 Jun 2004
One of the most loved books in international literature, "The Little Prince" (at least, that's the English title) by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, was made into a film in 1974. Starring acting legend Gene Wilder as the Fox, and dancing great Bob Fossey as the Snake, the film chronicles the story of the little prince, a young boy from a small planet who sets out on an adventure across the galaxy, and eventually comes to earth, where he meets a stranded pilot, and learns about life, love, and what's really important from the Fox and the Snake.
Beautifully done, though a bit primitive for some audiences i'm sure, the film version of The Little Prince lives up to its legendary title. And, the image of Gene Wilder sitting in a wheat field is simply priceless, and still brings tears to my eyes.
