Review of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning (2008) by Kevin G — 27 Aug 2008
Disney has done it again!!!! The prequel to "The Little Mermaid" depicts the story of why King Triton's loss of his wife Queen Athena makes his heart COLD AS ICE. Sally Field does a fantastic job as the villain Marina Del Rey and Jodi Benson, shoots her vocal cords sky high, in her amazing rendition of "I remember".
Enter Sebastian, with the calypso version of "Shake Shake Senora (Jump in the Line)", the most jumpy ever version. We also get introduced to the origins of Flounder and the band of the original Little Mermaid.
The scenery is stunning and lavish!!!! DVD include "Splashdance", a making of feature and also a behind the scenes of the Grand Broadway Production introduced by "Ariel" herself. A treat to enjoy for the whole family!!!!
