Review of The Lion King (1994) by Lauryn%20 A — 04 Dec 2018
The Lion King is one of those instantly recognizable films that everyone seems to know of. It's a wonderful, impactful story that has exciting music and memorable characters. This makes it one of the most iconic films in all of cinematic history.
The animation itself is crisp and colorful, vibrant and eye-catching. The cast voices fit perfectly with each animated character. I especially love the way James Earl Jones depicts Mufasa (The King of the Pride Lands); Jones' deep and soothing voice portrays an image of a wise and humble leader that knows where he stands.
Still, a lot of the movies' "timelessness" or "charm", I feel, is the very impactful moral undertones that we all relate to in some way- no matter the age or gender. The tale of accepting personal responsibility and not running away from our problems is one that has resonated deeply with the audience since the first premiere back in 1994.
Which is why, for many people, including myself, The Lion King is the greatest animated movie ever made by Disney. It truly is a masterpiece that deserves all the acclaim that has been given to it throughout the years.
