Review of The Limits of Control (2009) by Wilson S — 03 Feb 2010
You're pretty much on your own when it comes to filling in a plot in this highly stylized and widely panned Jim Jarmusch flick. I didn't hate it as much as a 43 Metacritic score indicated I might, and part of me thinks it's brilliant.
But a bigger part of me was only engaged by the anticipation of the appearance of each member of the multi-star cast (Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, John Hurt). Whose control is limited here? The protagonist's? His prey's? The audience's? Like everything else, it's all clues; no answers.
