Review of The Lighthouse (2019) by Franzhcritic — 03 Nov 2019
It's a surreal, psychological and visceral experience. I haven't seen black and white since 'Nebraska', but 'The Lighthouse' is one of the few films to make it integral. It adds to the melancholy that our protagonists, whom Pattinson and Dafoe play with a triumphant and tormented force, have to face.
The storytelling, however, seems to disjointed and attempts to be too much of an art film for me to properly enjoy it, steering'The Lighthouse' in the wrong direction at times, but from which the actors manage to salvage.
