Review of The Life of Emile Zola (1937) by Shaun K L — 19 Feb 2011
A very slow start and a boring end bog down a terrific middle. Also, it's very strange how this film is framed around Zola who is a much less important and interesting a character than Dreyfus here.
Still, well done, but full of the typical problems of the time--namely huge overacting from almost all of the people involved.
