Review of The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943) by Chris H — 08 Mar 2008
To watch Deborah Kerr is to fall in love with her. It's no wonder why her youthful face was used to haunt the film throughout. Great use of language, Emeric Pressburger. The story is also a clever devise, especially coming in down the stretch.
Suddenly, these proud British soliders we were kind of rooting for in the beginning are nothing but fat headed bullies created by modern warfare. The various character perspectives used are so good. Great, great movie.
