As an historic movie I think this one rates well. Depp really does push himself to try a multitude of different roles. Englishman ponce he plays well. Only thing was, like the main character himself who was admittedly vain and shallow, so I found the film to be rather soulless.
So THATS what end stage syphilis looks like....
