Review of The Libertine (2004) by Marleen L — 13 Sep 2008
This was a really great film and the only reason I give it 3 stars and not any more is because it was so depressing. Johnny Depp was incredible! He captured so perfectly the emptiness of John Wilmot's life.
He seemingly had everything but he was so unhappy... he tried filling the void he felt with women and alcohol but only fell deeper into despair. He died drunk and diseased. It was very sad.
