Review of The Leopard (1963) by Rosie C — 28 Jan 2009
This movie really requires some sort of guide/extras, perhaps before you even watch it. You need to know a good part of the historical context or you may get lost. It is very slow and often plodding and there were a few potentially eye-gouging moments during the 45 minutes ball scene, which appeared to be a reflection on decadence & death.
After the movie, I watched the extras and it all made a lot more sense.
