Review of The Leopard (1963) by Amber B — 15 Sep 2009
Set in Sicily in 1860-62, this film encompasses the political and social changes as Italy becomes unified and a middle class emerges. Based on a novel of the same name, the Sicilian settings are always interesting, focusing on the grand and crumbling lifestyles of the nobility. This is 3 hours long in the Italian and very watchable. The settings, costumes, and most of all the acting and cinematography are top-notch.
It's been over a week since I watched this & I think it will remain memorable - a classic.
