Review of The Leopard (1963) by Riley H — 20 Mar 2010
I haven't read the novel in over five years, but something feels off about this. I certainly came away with a different feeling. The casting of Lancaster is really odd (as much as I love Burt, one of my favourite actors ever).
That being said, it is beautiful to look at and it is impressive on the whole. I don't really think the length of the ballroom scene is at all necessary. I think if I had read the novel more recently I could do a better job of what it is that is slightly off.
But it's mostly great.
