I haven't fully understood it yet. I think I should learn more about 1963 history and 1863 history before I watch it again. But this is a true masterpiece, every single picture is beautiful. Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon and Claudia Cardinal are extremely good too, if not perfect.
And I just loved the shot with Lancaster's face in the dark just before firework goes off behind him. That's just superb...
