In a summer cluttered with disappointments "The Legend of Tarzan" surprised me by keeping me entertained for a solid 2 hours.
It's not as bad as critics have made it out to be, in fact in parts it's quite good, it's nicely shot with some thunderous music and entertaining performances.
Sadly it is let down by some downright dodgy CGI and green screen which is a shame as most of it looks like it was shot on location.
The plot is a little weak and I don't think it benefited much from its back and forth narrative as a straight forward origin story would have worked so much better.
Still I quite enjoyed it, and as "reboots" go this is pretty good.
